Remove EXIF data and GPS location
Photos often contain the exact place where they were taken. See what is hidden in your photos and remove it before sharing.
Private by design: this tool works entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our server. Free, no sign-up, no watermark.
How to use
- Choose one or more photos.
- See what metadata was found: location, camera, date.
- Download the cleaned copies (ZIP for many).
JPG and PNG files are cleaned without re-compressing the image, so quality does not change. The orientation flag is kept so photos are not turned sideways. Other formats are re-saved without metadata.
Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data?
Hidden information saved by cameras and phones: GPS coordinates, date and time, camera model, settings and sometimes the owner’s name.
Do social networks remove it?
Many do, but messengers, email, cloud links and forums often keep the original file with all metadata.
Does it reduce quality?
No for JPG and PNG — only the metadata blocks are removed.
Are my photos uploaded?
No, everything happens in your browser.
