Convert PNG to AVIF

Turn PNG images into compact AVIF files — many at once, with a quality slider.

Convert to

Browsers can’t write this format, so these files are converted on our server and deleted right after.

Your files are uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed automatically and permanently deleted after 1 hour. Nobody looks at them. Free, no sign-up, no watermark.

How to use

  1. Choose one or more PNG images.
  2. Check that AVIF is selected and set the quality.
  3. Press Start: browsers can’t write AVIF, so the files are converted on our server.
  4. Download the AVIF files one by one or as a ZIP.

PNG is a lossless format that supports transparency; ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics.

AVIF is the newest image format: often half the size of JPG at the same quality. Modern browsers open it, many older programs do not.

Frequently asked questions

Why is AVIF made on the server?

Browsers can open AVIF but can’t save it yet. Your images are sent over an encrypted connection, converted and deleted immediately after the result is downloaded to your browser (at the latest after one hour).

How much smaller is AVIF?

Usually 30–50% smaller than JPG at a similar visual quality. Use the quality slider to trade size for detail.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes, up to 20 files are converted in one go; add more and they are processed in groups.

Is transparency kept?

Yes, AVIF supports transparent areas.
